Let the Evolution of You Begin
December 12, 2018
Floating is a practice…one that brings a wide-range of benefits that are totally unique to the environment of sensory deprivation.
No light. No sound. No pressure or tension on your body. And no sense of the space around you as the water, air and your body temperature align. It’s expansive, refreshing, and fun.
Regular sessions can profoundly affect on your mind, body and life — which is the inspiration behind our new video.
We all contend with increasing demands on our time, energy and attention. For many, work has crept (or stampeded) into our personal lives, and led us to feel like we are always “on call”. We stretch ourselves thinner and thinner with more projects, contracts, jobs, and personal responsibilities, then develop decision fatigue from the endless list of possibilities at our fingertips, all while billions of dollars are being pumped into owning our attention and filling it with the next big thing.
It can be revolutionary to simply disconnect, pause and get enough rest.
When you’re tired, both physically and mentally, everything takes that much longer. Your mood leans towards irritation, you mind becomes foggy and those bad habits you normally manage better become a siren-song pulling you closer to the vicious cycle of an unhealthy, yet addictive lifestyle.
And it can seem like you don’t have time for anything, let alone REST for 60 minutes.
As the old zen proverb goes: “You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day. Unless you’re too busy, then you should sit for an hour.”
When I started floating, I couldn’t believe how much stress, tension and anxiety had built up over the years from a lack of sleep, workaholism and the financial stress of starting multiple businesses. And with each float session, I saw the layers peel back — not only to uncover the energized and chill me that was underneath, but also the kickstart of my evolution.
I’ve let go of old grudges during a float.
I’ve fixed my lower back pain and issues through my floats.
I’ve lowered my stress levels and better dealt with anxiety by floating.
I used floating as a tool to help memorize and prepare for my TEDx talk.
If you take the time to read through the stories of others, or try it for yourself, you’ll see that the benefits are virtually limitless. It works for top performing athletes, moms-to-be who need a break, fortune 500 CEOs, teenagers with autism, veterans battling PTSD or those who simply need more rest and quiet time to themselves.
A float can be an unforgettable experience and something truly unique to give yourself or a loved one. It’s not just an experience to be done once though. The true power of floating comes with consistent practice.
Float often enough and you’ll come meet a new version of yourself…one that’s better than you could have imagined.
Goodbye stress, #HelloPotential…
